Let's Shop Philly: Free People
Free People has returned to the city of Philadelphia since the 1970's with a private grand opening event. Joining their URBN Family, Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie, to their new location, 1625 Walnut Street. Located right in the heart of the Walnut Street Shopping District, it's 3,956 sq ft of bohemian, modern hippie style.
The Free People visual team did a great job, as always, paying homage to the city of brotherly love by peeling back the layers of the once art gallery and exposing the original building materials of brick and hardwood flooring. In each fitting room, on the mezzanine, you'll find unique murals by local artists Kris Chau, Beth Garvey, Lizzy Janssen, Lital Gold and Erin Phelan. Also discover an art installation inspired by the love statue composed of over 150 love letter, pictures, and quotes submitted by customers and fans around the world.
The employees and guest were stylish as ever, each one oozing with their own personal style, but one thing I found in common was the incredible arm candy trend. Stacks of bracelets and watches displaying armfuls of character.
Free people has grown from a small wholesale division of Urban Outfitters into its own brand ranging from apparel and accessories to intimates and hand-sourced vintage items. One thing I love about Free People is that free spirit quality carried throughout the brand. Their beautiful clothes and jewelry hold that unique detailing that make you feel like it was made just for you.
