Lovely Lace

Many of our favorite stores have already started to change their floorsets to display spring merchandise when most people think it's too early to even think about flowers, but we, fashion lovers, know how fast the seasons change in the fashion industry. I feel like it gives a refreshing outlook from the winter that better times are soon ahead. One trend I've noticed in some of our favs is laced or crochet details. Lace was a huge inspiration for designers in 2011's Resort Collections and during my recent shopping trips I've noticed how it's trickled down the retail world. Despite the weather getting colder, I think that lace is a good transitional piece because of its layering ability. Express carries a cropped crochet tee and a cropped crochet vest that could be paired with a warm turtleneck and flair jeans for a cool 70's vibe to wear now and later and who can resist the Jeffrey Campbell "Lita Mac" Booties available at Nordstrom's. Ahh spring, we've missed you!
