Fresh and clean faces strutted down the runways of NYFW. The look of flawless skin and barely-there eye makeup made an appearance at shows from Alexander Wang to Ralph Lauren. Of course to achieve this look, you should start with clean, healthy skin before the makeup. With that being said, here's 6 tips and tricks to help you get closer to having that fresh and clean look.
- Relax - Stress can cause wrinkles and breakouts. Why not, turn on some relaxing, free good music and just chill out.
- Keep Your Sweets - Eating too many sweets isn't the best thing for your skin, but dark chocolate contains antioxidants that can help fight off bad bacteria. Just don't over do it.
- Change Your Pillowcase Regularly - Cotton pillowcases can adsorb tons of unwanted germs and oil from your face and hair. Wash them regularly to avoid transferring them to your face.
- Day and Night - To go along with the tip above, make sure to wash your face twice a day. In the morning, to rid the skin of any dust, dirt or bacteria that may accumulate while you sleep. Throughout the day, your face comes in contact with makeup, toxins and other things from our environment. To keep my skin feeling fresh, I use Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser & Scrub .
- Exfoliate - You don't have to buy some super expensive scrub to do the trick. Try this homemade option made with sugar and coconut or olive oil to massage your face. The sugar will help break off those dead skin cells, while the oil works as great moisturizers as they are adsorbed into the skin without clogging your pores.
- Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen - Don't skip on the sunscreen, just because it's winter. UV radiation can still be damaging to the skin year round. Kill two birds with one stone by using a moisturizer with sunscreen. I recommend Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with SPF15.
