Let's Shop Philly: West Elm

West Elm has opened it's newest location in the King of Prussia Mall. It was my first time stepping inside the store full of beautiful home decor. During the press preview, I learned a lot about the company and what they represent. Words like sustainability, recycled, and handmade are found on tags around the store giving you a more personal invitation to learn more about it.

The West Elm customer is as much a part of their store as the items in it with events from book tours to workshop classes. There is even a free design lab for customers to work one-on-one with a Home Stylist, to assist you with measuring, floor plans and paint colors. Customers can also take advantage of the In-Home services to handle everything from painting to installing a photo wall and creating library shelving. These stores are meant to encourage shoppers to mix and match, touch and feel, and try and test.

Even more personal is the way West Elm collaborates with artist both locally and worldwide. During the celebration, tote bags designed by local artist Jim Digiovanni, were given to the first 300 customers with purchases totaling $50 or more. (Check out the tote here) On a global scale, you can find wall decorations of papier-mache animal sculptures handmade in Haiti from recycled materials.

So if you're in need of some modern home decor at good prices, stop by the West Elm store in the Court of the King of Prussia Mall. There's something for everyone, even if you not a home owner. If you're in the city, visit their Center City location on 1330 Chestnut Street.
