Oh Mondays


It's the day we dread the most, Monday! For most of us it may start off with that ever so annoying sound of an alarm clock scaring us out of our beauty rest. It's so unnatural for us to wake up this way that it actually makes us feel more tired. On the other hand, there's Sleep Cycle, an app that wakes you up gradually instead of abruptly. It also records your sleeping pattern using the accelerometer in your smartphone to monitor your movement and determine which sleep phase you are in. Sleep Cycle then uses a 30 minute alarm window that ends at your set alarm time and wakes you gradually leaving you feeling more relaxed.


The Sleep Cycle app is currently available only on the App Store and I've been using it for about 10 days now. I can honestly say that it's made me more conscience of my sleeping patterns and how much sleep I'm getting. Although, Sleep Cycle can't guarantee that it'll put an end to your sleepiness, it's a start.
