If you're new to the Philadelphia area or looking for a different dining experience, let me introduce you to Dinner Lab, a membership based supper club that features emerging chefs. We were invited to the first ever Dinner Lab hosted in Philly. Usually the dinners are served at unconventional locations, such helipads, warehouse, etc. For this one, we gathered at the Invincible Pictures at Philadelphia Soundstages at 1600 N 5th Street.
Long rectanglar tables filled the main floor along with a bar that served a tasty signature drink. Before dinner began, featured chef, Kwame Onwuachi gave a brief intro to explain what was on the menu and how he got his start in the culinary arts, which was very entertaining.
Now let's talk about the menu!
|
First Course: Strawberry Salad |
My favorite part about the strawberry salad was the pieces of brittle. It added a sweet crunch!
|
Second Course: Hamachi Rioja paired with Cucumber Caipirinha |
If you love cucumber water, you'll love this drink.
|
Third Course: Corn & Sage Deux Fois |
Three words: Ah-Maz-Ing!!!
|
Fourth Course: Braised Chicken paired with Pinot Noir |
The chicken was sooo tender it practically fell off the bone.
|
Fifth Course: Dreamsicle |
Who doesn't love desert time?
|
Sixth Course: Butterfinger |
The sea salt was like the icing on the cake.
