Celebrity hairstylist and inventor of the Beachwaver, Sarah Potempa, just styled Jessica Szohr’s gorgeous Half Up Fishtail Top Knot for her VH1 appearance to talk about her new show Complications! Here's how you can pull off this look at home.
1) Start by pulling your hair half up and separating that hair into three sections with the SarahPotempa Darby Clip.
2) Prep the hair with Aussie’s 7n1 Dry Shampoo to add texture to the hair you are about to braid. Starting at the back of the crown, create two knotted braids, intertwined with two small three-strand braids. Pin around each other to create a “faux hawk” look.
3) Pull the third section (closest to the hairline) into a clear elastic on top of the head. Create a fishtail braid and wrap it in to the Half Up bun maker to create the “top knot” look.
4) With the remaining hair that is half down, curl with the SarahPotempa Beachwaver S1 to create a cool beachy texture.
