Metallic Lips with Hard Candy

The new season brings new lip trends and metallic lips happen to be one of them.  Hard Candy has an amazing collection of Metallic Mousse Matte Lip Colors that you're sure to love for Fall. Hard Candy sent me 3 beautiful shades to try out! I really loved the colors and more importantly how they didn't dry out my lips or make them look ashy. If you're interested in trying out this trend, here are 3 things to keep in mind.

1. Exfoliate your lips - When applying a metallic lip like the Queen of Hearts, you'll want to make sure you start with a smooth surface. Begin by exfoliating your lips with a lip scrub. You can easily DIY this with a little sugar and olive oil. Since the lip color is so bold, you don't want to have your lips feeling chapped or peeling because it will show.

2. Line your lips - Sometimes bold lip colors, like Truffle can have a mind of their our, especially when it's on a lip wand. To help guide your lip color where you want it to go, line your lips in a universal lip liner that would work with any of these marvelous metallic lip shades. It'll keep your metallic lips from running and make it look 100% better.

3. Apply even layers - No, I'm not asking you to try the 100 layer challenge, but the more layers you apply the most intense the color will be. Penny Talk for instance, when applied in one or two layers gives off a beautiful shimmer, but when applied in a few more layers, after drying between, you get a gorgeous coppery color.
