Last year, I missed out on the Chinese Lantern Festival at Washington Square, but this year my family and I decided to take the trip and we're so happy we did. It was a beautiful experience that I recommend everyone goes to see. Here are 5 reasons to catch the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival!
1. It's something the whole family can enjoy. There's something for all ages from beer tasting to amazing animal lantern displays. My son loved seeing the dragons and underwater themes.
2. Try munching on a new cuisine. As the smell of delicious food fills the air, you'll be tempted to try something yummy. I think trying new foods, is the best way to experience a different culture.
3. The acrobat performance is a must see! We really ohh'd and ahh'd at some of the acts they were able to pull off. If you follow me on SnapChat (FashionofPhilly), you may have gotten a glimpse of the exciting show.
4. You don't have to stress about parking. Thankfully, the Independence Mall parking lot if not too far from the festival, plus parking is only $7, so it's a great deal!
5. The lantern festival is extended until June 18th! So if you missed it the first time around, now's your chance to be apart of history, as Philadelphia host one of the largest lantern festivals in the country.
