True Food Kitchen, one of the newest restaurants to open in King of Prussia, gives a new approach to eating healthy with unique flavors and a rotating menu to bring fresh seasonal food all year 'round. True Food is located on the outside of the King of Prussia Mall near Shake Shack and has indoor/outdoor seating, perfect for those upcoming late summer / early fall months.
It has an open dining room with a bar area equip with televisions, showing the latest in sports and news, which I was happy to see in a healthy dining spot because to me it shows that just because you eat healthy/vegan/vegetarian doesn't mean you can't enjoy a drink at a bar.
Speaking of drinks, during my visit I ordered the Kale Ade with kale, ginger, apple, celery, cucumber. It was a refreshing and cooling beverage, but they also have a good variety of cocktails, plus local beer and wine to choose from. However if you're a big soda drinker, you won't find those here, so step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
When it came time to order appetizers, we ordered the Edamame Dumplings (pictured below on the right) and the Wild Caught Albacore Tataki. Our favorite out of the two was surprisingly the Edamame Dumplings! They were so unexpectedly delicious and I would definitely recommend trying them, but the summer menu changes.
For my parents: I have good news! They have a kids menu! However, funny enough, Darius wanted House Made Chicken Sausage Pizza which was not on the kids menu, but they did have a Mozzarella & Organic Tomato Pizza for your little ones.
Now time for the main dish, Shrimp Teriyaki Quinoa Bowls. I love this dish because it filled you up without making you feel stuffed and sluggish. It had amazing smokey flavor in each bite, tons of shrimp, and yummy fresh veggies like broccoli, carrots, and bok choy.
For the grand finale, a tart, but not overly tart key lime pie for dessert. It was so good I couldn't stop eating it. I was addicted to the sweet graham cracker crust creating the perfect balance to the tart key lime filling.
If you're looking for a fresh menu with true food, this should be your next dinner destination. For more information, to get a look of the menu, or to make your own reservation visit, truefoodkitchen.com.
