When it comes to fashion week, being a part of a designers first
NYFW show is such a incredible moment. The excitement of the designer, the eagerness of the models and the anticipation of the audience give off an energy unlike any other.
For the
831 MINHLE Spring/Summer 2018 show, I was able to go backstage to get a first glimpse of the hair, makeup, and garments for designer, Minh Le's New York Fashion Week debut. Even though, I was only able to stay and cover backstage due to a tight schedule, I could already get a cool factor vibe from everything around me.
The hair - a loose bun with whipsy fly aways, kinda like a fairytale. The makeup was kept very natural and effortless. The clothing - light and airy like clouds. The silhouettes of every look was intrigriging, yet playful.
I love how the looks were styled with slip on pale pink sneakers, once again tapping into that relaxed cool girl look. There were looks I feel like many people could pull off, especially since they could easily be layered with other pieces for the cooler seasons like a turtleneck or faux fur vest.
The more colorful pieces added a bit of personality to the collection. They were beautifully embroidered and would appeal to fashion lovers of all ages.
As the collection came to a close, the pieces became a little more dressy in a beautiful champagne color. The ruffles and lace appliqués kept it playful, while lower necklines and splits gave it sexy appeal.
I felt like the collection could identify with a woman in different stages of their life. From the younger party girl to the women attending a cocktail party. I can't wait to see what else the designer has in store for us.
